She was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on October 5, 1939 to Charlie and Irene Wilson. Margie was the second of seven siblings: Charlie Jr., who passed away as an infant, Bobby, Rosemary, Jeanie, Ronnie and Terry.
Later Margie moved to Eureka, where she married the love of her life, Jim Hurt on May 14, 1966. They were married 45 years.
She worked at Lazio's Fisheries, and later volunteered as a teacher's aide at Morris Elementary School in McKinleyville, where she really enjoyed working with the children.
Every year Margie and Jim looked forward to being in the Pony Express Parade in McKinleyville. They earned the name "The McKinleyville Walkers" because Jim would push Margie in her wheelchair every day, rain or shine. They often went thirty miles in a week. Jim always waved and Margie always smiled at everyone on their daily walks whether they knew you or not. The highlight of Margie's day was getting out on her walk with Jim, her best friend, every day. Margie had many health issues but always had the strength to overcome them. Her husband Jim also has health issues, but he always put Margie first. He was her guardian angel for 45 years. They were never apart.
She is survived by her husband Jim Hurt and their children: Sandy Hurt, Guy and (Kathy) Hurt and (Rose) Hurt, Sheri and (Maurice) Meyer, Kim and (Carrie) Hurt, Jimmy and (Larissa) Hurt, Tony Hurt, and Andrea and (Johnny) Dresch. Margie is also survived by her grandchildren: Steven Pigeon, Melissa Boyd, Brad Hurt, Stephanie Hurt, Jaden Hurt, McKenzie Hurt, and soon to be her first great grandson, Kaden Hurt. Margie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Margie was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
