Odila Salas

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother "Granny," Aunt and Sister, passed away peacefully in her Eureka home on August 21, 2011. Odila was born to Beatrice Alvarez & Matias Salas on January 20, 1931 in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico. She came to California in 1956, where she lived in the San Fernando Valley until 1993 when she relocated to Eureka to be with her daughter and family. Odila dedicated her life to her family and loved ones. She was a wonderful, thoughtful and giving mother. We will miss her amazing wit, great sense of humor, laugh, and her beautiful stories of her past. She is survived by her daughter and son in law; Beatrice and Darryl Aberbom. Her granddaughters; Monica Broadwell of Portland, OR, Erica (Ezequiel) Ortiz, Jamie (Jim) Reeves, Jade Aberbom. Great Grandchildren Princesa and EJ Ortiz. Her sister; Aurea Sanchez and family of Pacoima, CA. Her sister-in-law; Juana Salas. Her nieces and nephews; Matias, Avi, Yolanda, Linda Salas, Frank (Denise), David, Joyce, Jackie, JR and Jessica Miller.Including all of her extended family that she loved so very much. We would like to thank St Joseph Hospital, St Joseph Home Health (Julie), Dr. Cade and Mike, Dr. Ho and Dr. Mastroni, Dr. LaClair, Limas Pharmacy, Hospice of Humboldt (Nancy) and Karen Ayres, and Visiting Angels (Shan) for helping out in her final moments.
