Royal A. Stauffacher was born December 26, 1950 and passed away on the mountain on September 5, 2010. Most important to him were his family and the mountain. He is survived by his wife Debra Stauffacher; his children Thomas Bennett, James Cameron and Danielle Cameron-Sproul; his grandchildren Quentin Sproul, and Alex and Andrew Bennett; his brothers and sisters, Arden and Larry, Floyd, Jackie Gorman, Guy Sheppard, Jay Sheppard and Forrest Foss. He was preceded in death by his first daughter, Jessica Cameron; niece Jackie Vietor and by his sister, Benora Stauffacher.
