Albert Wayne Thompson

Wayne grew up in Evansville, and graduated from Bosse High School. He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany serving proudly as Military Police. After being honorably discharged, Wayne joined the Evansville Police Department and served for 29 years. He also was a member of the Reed Lodge #316. During retirement he and his wife, Bev traveled all over the south visiting battlefields and Civil War reenactments. He loved all things Civil War and model train related. Wayne enjoyed spending time outdoors and fiddling around!

He is survived by his daughter, Michelene Lea Preske and her husband, Chadd; brothers, Melbourne Thompson and Larry (Bonnie) Thompson; sisters, Sandra Schneider and Trish (Brian) Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Beverly Ann (Goodman) Thompson.

Family and friends may gather from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Alexander West Chapel with a Memorial Service following at 5:00 pm and final resting place at later date next to his wife.
