

She graduated from Trinity Lutheran School and Reitz High School. Amelia was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Guild, Quilting Circle, Encouragers, and formerly taught Sunday School. She and her husband, Orie sang in the church choir. Amelia enjoyed making baby quilts and afghans for nieces, nephews, and friends.
Amelia was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Orie P. Nienaber, who passed away in 2004; father, Earl C. Kastle; brothers, Earl (Whitey) Kastle; Joe Kastle, Ray Kastle, and Elmer Kastle; and sisters, Sarah Peake and Barbara Kellough.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, niece Candace and church family, which are God’s blessings to her for helping in many ways.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 100 E. Michigan Street, Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastors Chad Eckels and Case Farney officiating. Friends and family may visit on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
