Anna Faye Sellers Dority

Faye grew up in Sebree, Kentucky with her seven sisters and three brothers. She graduated from high school when she was twenty-four. In 1948 she married her husband, Leroy Dority, who was a non-denominational minister. Throughout her life, Faye lived in many different places, including Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Florida and New York City. Evansville was her favorite place because it is where her family lives. Faye enjoyed children, eating, laughing, reading and spending time with friends and family. During her career, she owned and operated two bible book stores and two shoe stores. She was a very active parishioner at Berean Bible Church, in Evansville, where she performed a ventriloquism and magic act to entertain the youth. Faye often contributed to the church and to those in need.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Dority; sons, Steven Dority and Michael Dority; and granddaughters, Lia Dority and Jesula Dority.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tony Sistelos, with burial in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, KY at 1:30 PM on Saturday. Friends and family may visit Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
