

Anne Elizabeth (Griggs) Peterman, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at age 83. She was born May 22, 1932 in Hamilton, OH to the late, Gilbert and Edith Griggs.
She graduated from Bosse High School and attended the University of Louisville where she obtained her RN. Later in life she attended Evansville College where she received her Bachelor’s in Nursing. She began her career in Louisville and Indianapolis, and continued later in Warm Springs, GA. Always a warm and loving person, she devoted more than 30 years of her career to working as a registered nurse at Deaconess Hospital. She was an avid gardener and loved her roses, irises, and peonies. In her retirement years, she enjoyed “puttering around the garden.” She played violin in the school orchestra, was an avid reader and loved reading her entire life. Anne was also very creative and enjoyed making ceramics. Always important was her faith. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for more than 50 Years. Above all, she cherished her family, and always had a “bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck” for her son, Doug.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Gilbert, David, and Archie.
She is survived by her son, Doug; son-in-law, Eric Merrifield; grandson, Kieran; sisters, Rose Mary Griggs Williams and Edith Mildred McLimore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Stephen Claspell, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
