

Arlo was born in Millersburg, IN on November 29, 1928 to John and Mathilda Heilman. He attended Millersburg High School and was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the United States Army.
He was employed at the Elberfeld Block Company for 37 years.
Arlo was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
He was a member of the Elberfeld American Legion Post 351 and served as past post Commander.
Arlo was a member of Salem Church of Darmstadt Senior Citizens.
He also enjoyed numerous friendships and activities at Lakeside Manor.
Arlo is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma (Kissel) Heilman; his two daughters, Ruthie Peters (Jerry) and Diana Wellmeier (Eric); three grandchildren, Suzanne Stratman Knight, Kristie Stratman Thompson (Jeff), and Luke Wellmeier (Laura); four great granddaughters, Kailyn, Lydia, Breanna Knight, and Katheryn Thompson; sister, Nelomia Eckardt; and numerous sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor David Wiist, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The Elberfeld American Legion Post will conduct military rites at the graveside. Friends may visit Tuesday, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
