

He graduated from Central High School in 1956 and was a United States Marines and United States Navy veteran. After leaving the military he worked with George Koch Sons, where after many years, he retired as an electrician in the electrical department. Arvel was a member of Local 20 Sheet Metal Workers Union. He enjoyed IU college basketball, boating, and spending time with his family and friends.
Arvel was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Ann Crane; daughter, Leann Yeager; sister, Velda Best; and brother, William Crane.
He is survived by his sons, Steve Crane and Tom Crane (Anna); grandchildren, Sarah Crane, Tara Powell Givens (Mark), Kristian Powell, and Jesse Crane; step-grandchildren, Thomas Wagner, Michael Wagner (Jennifer), and Ronald Wagner (Andrea); great-grandchildren, Michael Garcia, Felix Givens, Greta Givens, Reginald Givens, Avery Wagner, Saylor Wagner, Ariella Wagner, Elliana Wagner, and Sylvester Wagner; great-great-grandchild Emilia Garcia; sister, Deloris Henson; brother, Sonny Crane; sister, Hilda Word; and many nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held for the immediate family at Alexander Memorial Park where full military rites will be conducted.
