Barbara L. McCune

Barbara L. McCune, 86, of Evansville, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16 ,2025. She was born on August 29, 1939, in Woodville, KY to the late James and Gertrude (Childress) Allen. Barbara was a devoted wife of 65 years, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and was actively involved in her church and various community organizations.

Barbara was a dedicated homemaker and worked in medical billing. She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed boating on Ky Lake, and loved to travel. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed baking for her family and friends. She volunteered her time for many organizations, including the Four Seasons club, PEO, Welcome Wagon, and Newcomers.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Randall Allen McCune.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James A. McCune; daughter, Jackie Barrett (Dave); daughter-in-law, Robin McCune; daughter, Jill Locher (Jeff); Grandchildren, Ryan Barrett (Ashley), Aaron Barrett (Kendyl), Drew Barrett (Brandi), Britain McCune (Kelsey), Jeffrey Locher (McKenzie), Justin Locher, Alexander McCune (fiancé) Jena Sorrell, Jorren Locher and Jobie Locher; Great-grandchildren, Victoria, Kaylee, Riley, Zander, Caden, Wilder, Colter, Jackson, Kollyns, Paxtyn, Camdyn, and Maddux. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family may visit from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel 4200 Stringtown Rd, Evansville, IN 47711. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on December 4, 2025 at Old North Methodist Church, 4201 Stringtown Rd. Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Mark Dicken officiating.
