Barbara M. Smith

She was born on August 2, 1942, in Evansville, to the late Walter and Imogene Montgomery.

Barbara had been employed at A.G.G. Inc. for the last 38 years, and had just recently retired her job. She attended Bethel Temple.

Barbara was preceded in death by both parents; a half-brother, Herbert Montgomery; along with two half-sisters, Lois Corum and Norma Geier; and a granddaughter, Ann Elizabeth.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald Smith; and their three children, Bill (Angie) Smith, Curtis Smith, and Teresa (Greg) Howell; grandchildren, Tony, Heather, Greg Jr., Ben, Nick, and Curt; brother, Jerry Montgomery; and sisters, Sue Irwin, Becky (Larry) Goodman; and twin sister, Gayle Moe; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Her family would like to express their appreciation for all the care given to Barbara by the nursing staff at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. They would also like to express their thanks to the hospice caregivers from Heritage Hospice.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Barry Kirves, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
