Bettye J. McCarty, 88, of Evansville, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at Good Samaritan Home. She was born October 27, 1924, in Henderson, KY, to the late Raymond Bethal and Celeste (Pleiss) Cartwright.
She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and enjoyed Bingo and crafting.
Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, William McCarty, in 2003; grandson, Donald E. Vowles; and sister, Dorothy Hargrave.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Charles) Ward of Newburgh and Carolyn S. Mahler of Evansville; grandchildren, Charles Ward, Jr., Darrin Ward, Sherri Helton and Danny A. Vowels; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
