Nécrologie de Bonnie Lou Williams
Bonnie Lou Williams, 84, of Evansville, our loving, vibrant, smiling, energetic, Miss Personality of a mother, left this Earth surrounded in the loving arms of her four children on Sunday, September 6, 2020. She was born October 14, 1935 in an old log cabin in Nortonville, KY to the late Samuel and Lizetta Abbott. She was the Lucky 13 out of thirteen children. After graduating high school in Nortonville, Class of 1954, her girlfriend Betty Lou Williams, wanted to introduce her to her very handsome brother, Mark H. Williams. He was a Marine and they met when he was home on leave. Soon after, on December 19, 1954, she became Mrs. Mark Williams. Living in Clarksville, TN, their first bundle of joy, daughter, Sandy, was born. Two years later, after moving to Evansville, their only son, Mark Stephen Williams was born. Two other daughters would follow, Bonnie Lisa and Yolanda “Yo” Williams. They travelled with their four children all over the United States, Mexico, and Canada on exciting adventures. After celebrating 25 years of marriage, a tragic construction accident on January 11, 1980 took the life of her handsome husband. This left her as a widow for 40 years. She said no other man could stand up to her Mark. She enjoyed travelling to Panama City and Destin every year with her daughters, son in law and grandchildren on the beach. She loved being outdoors, working in her yard and flowers, dancing, and shopping, shopping, shopping until you drop. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and had “adopted” over 100 baby dolls. She was a great cook and made the best fried chicken and biscuits in the world. She enjoyed the senior citizen dances at the Gathering Place with her niece Marilyn Brown. They grew up like sisters. She enjoyed visiting on her porch with her youngest “Yo” and son in law, Jon. Our beautiful mother, we will miss you more than you could ever know. You fought your battles with lymphoma, dementia and then your heart. You proudly won you wings to fly into the open arms of God. Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark H. Williams; eight brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her children, Sandy Fuquay (Jon), Mark Stephen Williams (Diane), Bonnie Lisa Hughart (Mike) and Yolanda “Yo” Williams; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, sister, Mildred Perkins; sisters in law, Louise Williams and Betty Hunt, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Sash and Staff, home healthcare workers-Lauren, Rodney, Emily, Laci and Christy, and hospice staff-Kathy, Andre and Brielle. We will always remember your special care. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Ave, officiated by Rev. Johanna Damme, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, or the Alzheimer’s or Cancer Associations. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderEastChapel.com.
