Brenda Kaye (Pruitt) Poole, 78, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. She was born on March 18, 1947, in Henderson, Kentucky.
Brenda previously owned and operated the Eastland Mall Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Evansville, Indiana, for many years and retired to spend time with and take care of her family. Family was the most important thing to her. She loved any chance she had to spend time with and created memories with us, whether it was taking trips to the beach or the mountains, sitting in the stands cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, going out to eat, or just staying home talking over a cup of coffee or snuggling on the couch. She was admittedly a “homebody” but was always ready for any adventure if spending time with family was involved. When she wasn’t with family, she enjoyed working jigsaw and word puzzles or visiting with neighbors who came to see her. She will be remembered as a kind, caring, selfless woman who always thought of others before herself. She fought many health battles with courage, grace, and quiet strength, and rarely complained. She was loved and adored by all of her family and will be missed terribly, but we take comfort and rejoice in knowing that she has received God’s perfect healing and is reunited with dear loved ones.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, James Emory Pruitt and Allie “Peggy” Pruitt Skeels; her sister, Linda (Pruitt) Born; and her husband of 42 years when he passed away in 2007, Addison “Mims” Poole.
She is survived by family who loved her dearly: two sons, Stacey Poole and wife Janine, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Jamie Poole and wife Bobbi, of Evansville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ben Poole, Cara Poole, Austin Poole, and Hailey (Poole) Ricketts and husband Levi; great grandson, Remington; niece who she considered a daughter, Angie (Born) Gauger and husband Alan; great nephew who she considered a grandson, Aaron Gauger; three step-grandchildren, Allison Magley and husband Hendrix, Ashley DeGraw and husband Dakota, and Lane Conder; and two great twin step-grandsons Jaxon and Baker.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Kentucky. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
