

Brian Sturgill, 33, of Evansville, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born November 7, 1982, in Big Stone Gap, VA to Glenda (Williams) Sturgill and the late Charles Richard Sturgill.
He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed homeschooling his daughter. He was a loving son and would travel to Virginia to see his family. Brian and his wife, Jasmine, were married at Esserville Freewill Baptist Church and in July celebrated their ten year anniversary with a vow renewal at The Unitarian Universalist Church of Evansville, where Brian was very active. He belonged to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia fraternity and marched tuba for 11 years. He was an avid role player, loved Star Wars and Dr. Who, Magic the Gathering, and enjoyed anything science fiction. He loved babies, cats, and dogs.
Brian was preceded in death by his father; and niece, Emily Sturgill.
He is survived by his wife of ten years, Jasmine (Goff) Sturgill; daughter, Kiernan Sturgill, both of Evansville; mother, Glenda Sturgill; brothers, Greg Sturgill, Shawn Sturgill, all of Wise, VA, and Jason (Alyssa) Sturgill of Lexington, KY; nieces, Luna and Annabelle; nephews, Tristan, Gavin, Dylan, and Lawrence; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Doddie Stone. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
