Carolyn Jane Waller

Carolyn graduated from Loogootee High School in 1958. She went on to pursue a degree in education and later earned a master’s degree at Indiana State in 1976. After completing her studies, Carolyn began her career with EVSC and worked at Glenwood School and Tekoppel Elementary where she dedicated over 35 years of educating generations of students. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she helped in the kitchen and also in preparing bereavement meals. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with friends in Civitan and her Bunco group.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Waller and her parents; granddaughter, Anna Rees Waller; and sister Jo Ann Nonte.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Donna Waller; sons, Bill Waller (Marlene) and Brad Waller (Kellie); grandchildren, Clint Omohundro (Katie), Lauren Schoolfield (Neil), Jordan Hubbs (Damon), Shelby Mangold (Antonio Letcher), Max Mangold (Robin), Cameron Waller (Kensie), Collin Waller; great grandchildren, Jaxson Schoolfield, Jordyn Schoolfield, Silas Omohundro, Miriam Omohundro, Cortland Mangold, Lincoln Waller, Oliver Waller, Callahan Mangold, Tatum Letcher, Charlotte Waller and Shepherd Mangold; brother-in-law, Tony Nonte; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at Alexander Funeral Home West with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Alexander West Chapel.

The family would like to thank the private caregivers, staff at West River Health Campus and Heart to Heart Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
