

He graduated from Rose Hulman College in 1947. Dick worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 35 years in the Engineering Department.
Dick and his wife, Shirley, were married September 19, 1947 in Terre Haute, IN.
He was a devoted member of St. James West United Methodist Church for 62 years.
Dick served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the Engineering Corp. While training in Florida, he was called upon to be part of the honor guard for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt along Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC, at the time of the President’s death. At the end of the war, he was sent to Germany where he guarded Prisoners of War.
Dick was an avid fisherman and had fished in many parts of the United States and also Mexico.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be so missed.
Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley, daughter SuzeAnn Goedicke (Erwin); son, Scott Dill (Donna); granddaughter, Denise Dill; grandson, Andrew Goedicke (Leigh); and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gene Backes, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
