Charles Wayne Mitz, 78, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at North Park Nursing Center. He was born September 20, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Henry and Margaret (Miller) Mitz.
Charles graduated from F. J. Reitz High School. He retired from Keller Crescent. Charles enjoyed fishing and loved his family. He was an Air Force Veteran and was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, and a former member of Riverbend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Arnold) Mitz; son, Charles “Chuck” Mitz, Jr.; granddaughter, Shanna Mitz; and daughter-in-law, Shannon.
Charles is survived by daughters, Pat Ashby (Everett), Pricilla Clements (Timothy); Jim Arnold (Dawn); grandchildren, Audie, Nicholas, Chuck, Jason, Allyson, and Holly; three great grandchildren; and sister, Helen Goebel.
Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2017, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, conducted by the Veterans Memorial Group. There will be no visitation at Alexander West Chapel.
