Charlotte Michael Wheeler

Charlotte Michael Wheeler, 95, of Evansville, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015, at Evansville Protestant Home. She was born June 30, 1920, in Oblong, IL, to the late Roy and Grace (Shryock) Morris.

She was employed by Marathon Oil Co. in Robinson, IL for 25 years. After retirement, she worked part time for seven and a half years at Florida Federal in St. Petersburg, FL and as an insurance underwriter. Charlotte enjoyed knitting crocheting, reading, and gardening. She spent the last years under the loving care of Mark and Susie Michael, as well as with her devoted little companion “Sunny.”

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 23 years, Vaughn Michael; second husband of nine years; Waldo Wheeler; son, Keith Michael; step-son, James Wheeler; and grandson, Alan Wheeler.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Susie) Michael of Evansville; daughter, Cynthia (Mike) Schoeppel of Murphysboro, IL; daughter-in-law, Karen Sue Michael of Granbury, TX; step-daughter, Virginia (Pat) Baxter, of Avon, IN; step-son, Wallace (Marrianna) Wheeler of Avon, IN; step-daughter-in-law, Beverly Wheeler of St. Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
