He was born September 29, 1958 in Evansville to the late Lloyd and Maggie (Wardrip) Grigsby. He was a booster but not an average booster. He was a booster of men, women and children. Darrell was an incredible coach and mentor. He took countless kids to and from practice and was their sponsor. Darrell developed the Evansville Stealers travel softball team and the girls were his pride and joy. He built the Southern Indiana Club website and helped build the league. He would tackle any problem that Central Athletic faced. He developed the Courage Award, a Central scholarship program, in memory of his son Randy. Darrell had incredible integrity and moral character and touched many lives.
