
David graduated from Reitz High School in 1981 and Vincennes University in 1984.
He was employed at Mills Wallace & Associates as a draftsman, a vocation that he truly enjoyed.
David liked yard work, planting flowers and trees. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren and was a generous and loving husband and father. He truly loved life.
He loved designing and drawing buildings and other structures.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William J. Kempf, Jr.; brother, James L. True; stepfather, Bob Van Buren; and nephew, Jonathan Koester.
David is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laurie S. (Kempf) True; son, David M. True; daughter, Stacy True; granddaughters Anastasia and Arianna; grandson, Paten all of Evansville; father, Lewis True and wife, Diann (step-mother) of Indianapolis; mother, C. Jean VanBuren; mother-in-law, Janice Kempf; brother, Roy True and wife, Terry of Indianapolis; sister, Sonia Keepes and husband, Jim of Evansville; step-sister April VanBuren of Evansville; step-sister, Amy Wilkerson and husband, Greg of Evansville; brother-in-law, Bill Kempf and wife, Sherri; sister-in-law, Christine Kissel and husband, Pastor Ron, sister-in-law, Sharon Moutoux and husband, Chris; brother-in-law, Michael J. Kempf; five nieces and five nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 4, 2011, at St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 S. St. Phillips Road, Mt. Vernon, IN, officiated by Fr. Tom Kessler and Pastor Steve Jones with burial at St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel with a memorial service held at 6:30 PM. Friends may also visit at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until service time.
Memorial contributions be made to the David E. True Memorial Fund at any local Fifth Third Bank. His wife loved him very much.
