

Dean was a strong-willed, independent woman who was deeply loved by all who knew her. A longtime member of Harwood Baptist Church, she dedicated many years to keeping it clean and welcoming. She was a member of the Owls Club and Eagles Club, where she made countless friends and lasting memories. Dean found joy in spending time with her family, dancing, and singing karaoke. She was also known for her famous coconut and chocolate pies, which were enjoyed by many.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Pat) Vanover, Raymond (Donna) Vanover, Debbie (Mike) Tyring, Theresa "Terri" Goebel, and Janet Hurley; her grandchildren, Brandi (Bo) Cofer, Trena (Eric) Truitt, Beth Conner, Devon O'Brien, Melissa (Jeff) Anslinger, Deana (Kenny) Tenbarge, Jeana Goebel (Ray Frantz), Amy (Chris) Martin, and Sara (Jacob) Hibbs; grandsons, Scott (Michelle) Vanover, Darron Vanover, and Ronnie Vanover II; along with 26 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
Dean was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles Vanover and Bobby Crowe; five brothers and five sisters; and her great-grandson, Brandon Cofer.
Family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, Indiana. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home, followed by entombment beside her second husband at Alexander Memorial Park.
