Della Mae Kokomoor, age 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025. Della was born in Chicago, Illinois, and lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Alan Kokomoor; parents, Woodrow and Catherine Tindle; her brother and sister-in-law, Andrew Tindle (Margaret); and her sister, Theresa (Tindle) Thorp.
Della is lovingly remembered by her children: sons, Bob (Anita) Turner and David (Shae) Kokomoor; daughters Sandra (Jeffrey) Altheide and Laura Jean (Rance) Merriman; as well as her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings: brothers, Eugene (Rose) Tindle, Raymond Tindle, and Woodrow (Deborah) Tindle; sister, Shirley Cooper; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Della was proud of her work as an orthopedic technician at Deaconess Hospital, where she served for many years with care and professionalism. She was also a dedicated member of the Daughters of the Nile, actively supporting their charitable work.
A visitation for Della will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., also at Alexander West Chapel with Father Jerry Pratt officiating. Della will be laid to rest at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720. Della’s life was a testament to kindness, strength, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
