Dolores Jean Heeger

She graduated from FJ Reitz High School in 1957, the University of Evansville in 1961, and completed her master’s degree from Indiana State in 1978. She was member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, serving as president of her chapter while at the University of Evansville. Dolores was a librarian for the EVSC, EVPL and also in Massachusetts, and was a teacher at FJ Reitz High School and Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a Master Gardener and belonged to the Evansville Audubon Society, Seedlings Garden Club and the Evansville Herb Society. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she served on the Board of Education and was a member of LWML. Dolores enjoyed spending time at the family’s vacation home in Michigan as well as being an avid traveler, especially to a number of foreign countries.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stephen Heeger; sons, Edward Heeger-Brehm (Paula) and John Heeger; daughter, Sara Dunham (Tim) sister, Carolyn Grumm (Rev. Roland) of Reno, NV and Jayne Allen (Steve) of Muskegon, MI; and brother, Robert Reasor (Cheryl) of Evansville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1401 W. Boonville New Harmony Rd, Evansville, IN 47725, officiated by Rev. Stan Temme, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel, and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
