After graduating from North High School in 1957, he served in the U.S. Army until September 30, 1967. Donald retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and billiards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ester; wife, Shirley; great-grandson, Hendrix; and his twin sister, Sonja Schmidt.
Donald is survived by his son, Keith Van Bibber; daughter, Kim Hammers (fiancé Jimmy Williams); grandchildren, Trevor Gibson (fiancé Morgan Powers), Evan Van Bibber, and Mallory Gibson; great-grandchildren, Kingston Tapp, Kobe Tapp, and Kynlee Bender; sister, Joan Meyers; brother, Richard Van Bibber (Sue); and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Alexander East Chapel with Pastor Andy Payton officiating. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
