Dorothy Hunter

Dorothy graduated from Reitz High School, Class of 1952. She married the love of her life, Guy (Gus) Hunter. Dorothy worked at National City Bank for 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, attending Reitz football games, traveling and was an avid bowler. She was inducted into the Evansville Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame. Dorothy was a member of Howell General Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Guy G. Hunter; infant son Jeffrey Allen Hunter; and parents, Joseph and Theda Wanders.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael Hunter; and granddaughter, Beth Hunter.

The family would like to thank Harrison Springs Health Campus in Corydon, IN and Southern Care Hospice in New Albany, IN for caring for Dorothy.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Terry Gamblin followed by burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
