

Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie (Phelps); sisters, Josephine Thomas, Olivia Polley, and Kate Haag; brothers, Sylvester, Wilfred, Melvin, Edwin, and John. He was the youngest sibling but lived to be the oldest.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas, and Richard (Patti); daughter, Mary Schweizer (Anthony LeBarron); grandchildren, Jacob (Ashley) Schweizer, Elizabeth (Paul) Fehrenbacher, Samuel (Mackenzi) Schweizer, Seth (Karin) Reisinger, Marlee Reisinger, Nicole Reisinger, and Mickey Reisinger; great-grandchildren, Claire Fehrenbacher, Avery Schweizer, Kennedy Schweizer, and Peyton Schweizer.
Earl was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church where he attended faithfully and worked joyfully hand and hand with Marge. He attended Reitz High School and proudly served in the US Army (1948-1952) USFA occupational forces in Vienna, Austria. He retired from Whirlpool in 1988.
After retirement Earl and Marge enjoyed many wonderful trips with the AARP and the USFA military reunions including going back to Vienna, Austria, Earl enjoyed spending time at the camp on the Ohio River and was a regular card player at the VFW.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday. March 3, 2025 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Kenny Armitage, followed by entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:00 am until service time on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Simpson United Methodist Church.
