

Edna “Bea” Clem, 90, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, GA. She was born November 28, 1925, in Olaton, KY to the late Shelby C. and Linnie J. (Wright) Myers.
In her twenties, Bea worked at several jobs to support the war effort, including as a Rosie Riveter. Later as a young widow, she provided a warm and loving home for her family. As a homemaker she was very involved in her children’s school and served several terms as President of PTA at Cedar Hall School, as well as room mother every year. Bea was a gifted seamstress and sewed not only most of her own and her children’s clothing, but did alterations and special projects for others. Later, she worked as Office Manager for Boonville Body Shop where she retired from twice. She was an active member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Evansville for over 40 years, and was the first lady Deacon to serve in her church. Se was a longtime resident of Evansville, IN. She enjoyed serving others in any capacity needed. Bea was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Richland Chapter 418 for a number of years.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Harold George Clem; mother, Linnie Jane (Wright) Myers; father, Shelby C. Myers; sister, Anna Marion (Myers) Stewart; and brothers, Everett Myers, Delbert J. Myers and James E. Myers.
She is survived by her daughters, Gyneth T. Ruark of Martinez, GA and Delores W. (Dennis) Sylte of River Falls, WI; son, Joseph L. (Darlene) Clem of Bloomington, IN; step-son, Ronald E. Clem of Evansville, IN; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda (Kenneth) Watson of Narrows, KY and Bonnie (Willie) French of Bardstown, KY; brother, Raymond Myers of Richland City, IN; loving nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, December 18, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Dr. Wayne Perkins, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
