Dr. Edward L. Fritz

Dr. Edward Lane Fritz, 90, of Evansville, passed away Monday, March 20,2023. He was born December 15, 1932, in Evansville to the late Edward and Virginia (Lane) Fritz. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1950. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Indiana University in 1957. He also received an accounting degree and MBA from the University of Evansville. Ed received the 1991 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the IU School of Dentistry, and the 1996 Indiana Dental Association Distinguished Service Award. He was a past president of the American Association of Dental Examiners and the Indiana State Board of Dental Examiners. Ed practiced dentistry in Evansville for 40 years. He was a CEO of Health Resources Inc. Edward is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bettye (Samples); daughters, Mary Ann Nichols (Keith) and Sarah Hunt (Ray); grandchildren, Thaddeus, Aaron and Josiah Hunt; sister, Joan Byers (Philip); brother, Thomas Fritz (Laura); sister-in-laws, Carolyn Samples and Debra Taylor (Jeff) and numerous nieces and nephews.
