Edward E. Rentchler, 88, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 in Boonville, IN. He was born in Elberfeld, IN on February 15, 1932 to the late Louis E. and Hilda (Zint) Rentchler.
He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Farm Bureau since 1955. He was a member of the All-Seasons Camping Club and Zion United Church of Christ in Elberfeld. A life member of Evansville VFW Post 1114, American Legion Post 351 in Elberfeld and the 772nd Military Police Battalion and Veteran’s Association. Edward was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War and was stationed in Taejon, Korea. He attended and completed basic training at Camp Attebury and also Fort Knox.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty Rentchler.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda McMichael (Eric); sons, Robert Rentchler (Joann) and Raymond Rentchler (Pam); nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; and sister, Anna Harris; and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Pastor Steve Oeth and Pastor Paul Fraser, burial will follow in Zion Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m and Friday, 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ in Elberfeld.
