Eleanor Svea Kutlich

Eleanor Svea Kutlich of Evansville, dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away, still beautiful in body and spirit, at the age of 100 on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Linda E. White Hospice House. She was born in Goodrich, Wisconsin, May 26, 1920, the daughter of the late William and Rosalie Granberg. She graduated from Rockford High School in Illinois in 1937 and worked in retail and as a model until her marriage in 1940 to Leo J. Kutlich, also of Rockford. Eleanor moved with her family to Evansville in 1957 and was active in community and charitable organizations her entire life. Her work and memberships included: Chairman of the Vanderburgh Christian Home for many years until its closing; president of the Council of Garden Clubs; and a longtime officer of the McCutchanville Garden Club; member of the Board of Willard Library; member of the Tri-State Petroleum Wives; Kennel Club member; Evansville Country Club member and longtime duplicate bridge player. She was also an avid antique collector. A lifelong lover and supporter of art and culture, she traveled widely, read and studied throughout her life, and shared this passion with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leo in 2001. She is survived by her children, Lee Kutlich of Long Beach, CA, John Kutlich (Rhonda) of Evansville, Lori Kutlich of Evansville, and Julie McKinney of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service that will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at McCutchanville Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
