

Elsie graduated from Browns Community High School in 1940. She worked during WWII at Chrysler, Servel, and Faultless Caster.
She was a 70-year member of First Christian Church in Evansville where she was active in Mary’s Circle and the Christian Comrade Class. She enjoyed singing and spending time with children and served many years as a Sunday school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Courtland Ranson in 2013; her twins, Elva Eunice and Ernest Edgar; and siblings, Bonnie, Lavera, Donald, Ned, Hilary Gene, and Evelyn.
Elsie is survived by her daughters, Donna England (Dan), Becky Wolfe (George P.) and Randa Ranson (Manuel Alvarado); grandchildren, Lauri Shepard, Amanda Ortiz, John David Buchanan, and Anissa Fletcher; great grandchildren, Anissa Marie, Bailey, Kaleigh, Carlos David, Kortland, Khylar, Josie, Luke, Khylan, and Nathanael; sister, Pearl Green (Jack); sisters-in-law, Emma, Elva and Doris Ranson; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mitch Stichler, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from Noon until service time at the funeral home.
