

He was a member of Local 136 Plumbers and Steamfitters and was an instructor at Local 136 Training Center from 1978-1982. He served in the Air Force. Emilio was a member of the West Side Nut Club and served as chairman for the Fall Festival Very Special Kid’s Day. He was a member of the Hilltop Grove, VFW, was an avid golfer and Clabber player, and loved yard sales. He was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Emilio had been married to Geraldine Garibay for 46 years, before her passing in 2007. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Vera Hinijosa, Lalo Garibay, Linda Morales, Elda Garibay, and Pepe Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife, Darroll Garibay; daughter, Natalie Jones (Barry); sons, Gary Garibay (Rena), Bill Garibay, Bryant Garibay, and Brent Garibay; grandchildren, Krysti Rowker, Bailey and Brody Jones, Lance Garibay, Hunter and Darci Garibay, and Wil, McKenna and Blake Garibay; step-children, Daryn, Teresa, LaDonna, Rob, and Chris; 10 step-grandchildren; siblings, Henry Garibay, Evila Garibay Salinas, Eddie Garibay, and Mary Jo Watson, who was like a sister to him; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 2, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2701 West Franklin Street, officiated by Father Ted Tempel, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel and Friday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
