Etna Louise Keller, 93, of Evansville, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at Plainfield Health Center in Plainfield, Indiana after battling Alzheimer’s for more than 20 years. She was born July 20, 1927 in Glasgow, Kentucky. After graduation from Central High School, she worked as a secretary at Citizen’s National Bank where she met her now late husband Bill. Bill and Etna designed and built their family home on Newburgh Road where they resided for 56 years. While raising her two children, she worked at Harrison High School for 35 years beginning when the high school first opened. She was secretary in the Library and subsequently secretary in the Athletic Department. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ East. Etna and Bill traveled extensively, visiting six of the seven continents during their retirement. Etna remained active with a group of 7 close friends from Central High School with monthly gatherings for bridge and socializing. Etna is survived by her daughter, Brenda Keller of Pittsboro, IN; son, Dan (Barb) Keller of Fennville, MI; grand-daughters Nicole Keller of Cleveland, OH and Sydney Keller of Indianapolis, IN; and sister-in-law Ruth Keller of Evansville. Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Lay Minister, John Herring, Jr., with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
