Eugene "Gene" Richardson

Eugene “Gene” Richardson, 87, of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Deaconess Gateway. He was born on January 5, 1923, to Raleigh and Carrie (Kroeger) Richardson in Spencer County, Indiana.

Gene served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He was a Sales Manager for Merck & Company.

He was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Gene was very outgoing and humorous. He had many friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Summer and sister, Irene Reitz.

Gene is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bea Richardson of Newburgh, IN; daughters, Gay McMichael (Ed) of Clayton, NC, and Robin Collins of Evansville; grandchildren, Jessie Grizzell of Wilmington, NC, Kyle Grizzell of Nashville, TN, Damein Collins of Evansville, Lynn Castle of Atlanta, GA and Carrie Fisher of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Clayton Richardson (Stella Mae) of St. Peters, MO and Pat Richardson (Helen) of Tell City, IN; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1811 Lincoln Avenue officiated by Pastor Thomas Wenig with entombment at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
