Fred was born on March 27, 1953 to the late Arthur and Revetta Heseman in Evansville. He attended Plaza Park grade school and graduated from Harrison High school in 1971 where he enjoyed playing sports. He went on to study Engineering at the University of Evansville, graduating in 1975 with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
After courting Cindy Hight, they wed in 1981, going on to have two daughters, Katie and Elizabeth. Together they enjoyed games in the back yard and Saturday rides to get skittles and chocolate milk and beach vacations.
In his early years, Fred enjoyed farming with his grandfather, Edwin Heseman, his father, Art, and brother, Glenn. After graduation, he had careers with Firestone, Biagi and Associates, and retiring after 23 rewarding years with Berry Plastics. In retirement Fred and Cindy spent winters on the beach in Naples, FL, and summers in Evansville with grandkids. Fred also liked anything outdoors, especially running, his weekly golf game, outings with his farming friends, and time spent at his Browning Rd lake. He always looked forward to his annual St. Louis baseball game and MN trips. He felt the best part of his life was to have been born into a Christian family where he attended Oakhill Presbyterian Church as a youth and then becoming a member and elder at Bethlehem UCC for the last 40 plus years.
Fred is predeceased by his parents and favorite grandson, Jack Roski. He is survived by his most caring and loving wife of 42 years, Cindy; his brother and best friend, Glenn Heseman (Judy); his two special daughters, Katie Roski (Justin) and Elizabeth Daywalt (Adam); and his four other favorite grandchildren, Greyson Daywalt, Eleanor Daywalt, Max Roski, and Olivia Roski.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Bethlehem UCC, officiated by Pastor Emily Slade, with a private burial immediately after the service. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Alexander East Chapel and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Bethlehem UCC.
