Frieda G. Greiner Foertsch

She was formerly of Spencer County and Christmas Lake Village. She worked at Holiday World for 54 years retiring at 98. She was responsible for all of the beautiful flowers and plants at Holiday World and loved her work there. She was recognized in 2000 by Green Thumb, Inc. as Indiana’s Outstanding Older Worker.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha Whitledge (Perry) of Henderson; son-in-law, Dewey Colbert (Ruthie) of Evansville; and sister, Esther Junker of Evansville. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, David Whitledge (Mary Linda) of Abingdon, VA; Mary Ann Whitledge of Henderson, Nancy Watkins (Steve) of Henderson, John Colbert (Chya) of Newburgh, and Mike Colbert (Kristi) of Elberfeld; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Colbert; brother, Ben Greiner, parents, Charles and Anna Greiner.

There will be no visitation. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Alexander North Chapel.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses and aides at Sterling House for their wonderful care and also to Vista Care Hospice.
