Gavin Loren Koenig

Gavin Loren Koenig, 22 months old, of Evansville, began his mission in Heaven Sunday, August 7, 2011, while at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born September 17, 2009, in Indianapolis.

He loved his dogs, Baley and Zooey. He enjoyed music, and his favorite song was Barney’s “Silly Hat.” He also loved dancing, reading books, golf cart rides and playing with his cousins. He attended Dayton’s Daycare.

Gavin is survived by his loving parents, Dustin and Haley Koenig of Evansville; grandparents, Dennis and Bambi Wilzbacher of Elberfeld; Cindy Ratliff and Kevin Koenig, both of Evansville; aunts, Madison Ratliff and Courtney Johann (John), all of Evansville, and Amanda Hooper (Philip) of Indianapolis; three cousins; great-grandparents, Louis Peerman of Boonville, John Wilzbacher of Ft. Branch and Marlin Krieg of Evansville.

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2011, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 6400 Oak Hill Road, officiated by Rev. Rocky Sheneman, with burial in Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, and from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.
