George Lee “Buddy” Spradley, 87, of Evansville, IN passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at Holiday Village Assisted Living. He was born on June 16, 1933. Music was a very important part of Buddy’s life from the age of 13. He played the steel guitar and formed the group, The Versatiles. They played in many local clubs in the area for years. Buddy was a naturally gifted artist and specialized in drawing. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 for 67 years and owned and operated Spradley Sheet Metal. Buddy was a member of the Eagles, Moose and Owls. George was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Norma Jean (Warner) Spradley; parents, Andrew and Margaret Spradley; sisters, Etta Jane West and Aubyn Babbs; grandson, Craig Andrew Spradley. He is survived by his sons, Andrew Spradley (Chris), Dennis Spradley (Teresa), Scott Spradley (Terry); daughter, Cynthia Parravicini (Bert); eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. George’s family would like to thank the staff at Holiday Village Retirement Community and Heritage Hospice for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Gene Backes with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 and Friday 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
