

Greg and Janel first met in kindergarten at Tekoppel, when Greg declared Janel would be his wife as they laid together on their nap-pads at nap time. He graduated from Reitz High School, class of 1978 where he played football and baseball. Greg loved to watch Indy Car Racing and was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. He also enjoyed hunting, guns, cooking for his family and watching YouTube clips of Pit bulls and Gorillas and other hobbies. He especially cherished going to Skyler’s games and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Peggy Savage (Dailey); father and mother-in-law, Marvin L. and Jean Oschman; brother-in-law, Marvin W. Oschman.
Greg has survived by his wife of 27 years, M. Janel (Oschman) Savage; daughter, Lindsey Robak (Ben); Lindsey’s children, Kaden and Karter Blanchard, Beau Robak; daughters, Brittany K. Cooper and Windy Cooper; Windy’s children, Mackenzie Cooper (fiancée, Cameron Brown), Alex and Janel Cooper; son, Skyler Savage (fiancée, Lexy Burris); brother, Don Savage (Janet); sister, Jan Babcock (Bob); brother-in-law, Mark Oschman (Carla); sisters–in-law, Marva Mitchell (Steve), Robin Oschman; nieces and nephews, Olivia Oschman (Cody Whittamore), Chance Oschman (Jaklyn Weisling), Christina Vandiver (Michael), Cindy Oschman, Marvin Oschman and great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville, officiated by Pastor Gene Backes. Burial will follow in Immanuel Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
