Harvey Wayne Dunn was born in Trigg County, Kentucky, on April 27, 1936. He was the son of Maxie R. Dunn and Elizabeth Arlene Dunn. His childhood was filled with joy and laughter with his two brothers, Paul Douglas and Ronald Keith, and his two sisters, Wilma Jean and Betty Joan. Wayne moved to Evansville in 1947 and graduated from Central High School in 1954. After serving in the United States Army, he was employed by Whirlpool, where he worked until his retirement.
Wayne was a gregarious man who laughed often and loved to share meals and stories with his family and friends. He also loved his pets—a gaggle of honking geese, a herd of miniature horses, and a house filled with mischievous cats. Wayne was obsessive about his yard work, turning his home on Mill Road into a showpiece.
Harvey Wayne Dunn and his life partner, Fredrick Golden Williams, built a beautiful life and lived together for over fifty years. Wayne had four nieces and six nephews and was the surrogate grandfather and great-grandfather to Fredrick Williams’s burgeoning family. Harvey Wayne Dunn will be missed but always remembered.
