Hazel (Hyatt) Plock Vohjesus, 76, of Evansville, IN passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 of natural causes with family by her side. She was born in New Harmony, IN on May 17, 1944 to the late Mildred and Roy Hyatt.
Hazel retired from Whirlpool after 35 years. She enjoyed going to Ellis Park horse races, gardening and loved dogs.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Vohjesus Sr.; sons, Mark and Ernie Plock; granddaughter, Amanda Gregg; brothers, Jack, Donnie, Bill, Joe, and Mike Hyatt; sisters, Ginger Hyatt and Diane Wease.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Guy) Gores; son, Tony (Frances) Vohjesus Jr.; grandchildren, Andrew (Cassie) Plock, Chase Gores, Dakota (Olivia) Gores, Samantha Plock, Brandy (Greg) St. Clair, Heather Vohjesus and Amanda (Josh) Sherman; great grandchildren, Jacob Gregg, Piper Plock, Bristol, Ashtyn, Rowan and Paul Gores, Genevieve Vohjesus, Madison Hackathorn, Royce and Reece St. Clair; brother in laws, Charles Hyatt and David Wease; numerous nieces and nephews, and her loved dog, “Lucky” at the Oasis.
Hazel’s family extends a special thank you to the Oasis Dementia Care staff for the great friendship and care that Hazel received.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery officiated by brother–in-law, Charles Hyatt.
