

He was a 1968 graduate of North High School and retired from Deaconess Hospital after 33½ years of service. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a New York Yankee’s fan.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Ruth Effinger; and grandson, Kevin Kunze.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Priester of Evansville; sister, Elizabeth (Peter) Castle of California; step-daughters, Janet, Jane and Joy Scarlett; step-sons, John Jr. (Terry) and Jeff (Kimber) Scarlett, all of Evansville; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 100 East Michigan Street, officiated by Rev. Chad Eckels, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street, and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
