

She worked at White Swans Laundry and Cleaners, Sears and American National Can, which she retired from. She was active in the Rosedale Community and in politics, where she worked at the polls and became a Judge. Ida was an active member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, where she was on the Deaconess Board, in the Senior and Mass Choir, on the Grief Committee and received the honor of Woman of the Year.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Harris; son, Bob Leavell; and sisters-in-law, Estella Harris and Mary F. Wright.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilou Jenkins and Mae F. Marshall; sons, James A Leavell and Anthony W. Leavell, all of Evansville; daughters, Sylvia Henderson, Janet Hooker and Patricia Barnett; sons, Torn and Tracy Harris; mother, Emma L. Parham; sister, Jessie L. Dunn; grandchildren, Anthony Leavell, Shelia R. Lewis, Marisa Garrett, Roland Marshall, Angela Leavell, Bob W. Leavell III, Mario Leavell, Elnora M. Leavell, Emily Baxter, Lori Boyd, Keely Beckner, Patricia Leavell and Trey Leavell; a host of great and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Faye; brother-in-law, James; one aunt; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, 701 Oak Street, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the church.
