Jackson “Jack” R. Tyree, 80, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital after a long illness. He was born December 7, 1934, in Evansville, to the late Elmer and Vera Tyree.
After attending Reitz High School, he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. He later worked in construction throughout the tri-state.
Among his family and friends, he was known for the story telling, his unique sense of humor, and his love of animals.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer, Jr. Robert, and sister, Phyllis Centers.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley; son, Alan (Karen) and his grandchildren, Cheyenne and Hailey and Jaimee Williams and James Skinner; and brother, William Tyree (Martha).
Friends may visit Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel.
