He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Evelyn (Schirle) Moseley. He often said that, “Evelyn was the best thing that ever happened to me and was truly the wind beneath my wings”. After her death, Jim could be seen many mornings walking at Eastland Mall. He would walk almost 4 miles a day.
Jim joined the United States Navy and served on the destroyer, USS William Dean Hawkins. He sailed around the world on the ship passing through the Suez and Panama Canals. He received the China Service Medal.
For many years, James was a bus driver for the Evansville schools. In the 1960s, he helped develop the bus routes for the school system in the county. He enjoyed transporting students on his bus for the numerous high school sporting events including the North High School Basketball State Championship in 1967.
Jim and his wife, Evelyn, owned and operated Mountain Valley Water for 23 years. They retired in 1991. It is still family owned today.
Family was very important to Jim. He dearly loved his wife, Evelyn, and his children. He was generous to both his immediate and extended families. We will miss him and will not forget him or Mom.
