Janet Louise Bumb

She graduated from F. J. Reitz High School in 1942 and attended The University of Evansville on full scholarship and graduated in 2 ½ years. She was an elementary school teacher and worked as secretary treasurer of the family farming corporation. Janet was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, where she was baptized and married, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School for 60 years. She was also a devoted worker and volunteer at the Vanderburgh County Fair and 4-H programs.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick in 2015 and is survived by her daughters Karen Bumb Lauer and Sara Butler, as well as 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Noon on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 7700 Middle Mount Vernon Rd., Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor J.D. Rose. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday at the church.
