Jerry W. Hartig

Jerry W. Hartig, 85, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born August 19, 1933 in Gibson County to the late Dorine and Warren Hartig. He served his country with the Air Force in Germany as an airplane instrument mechanic. Jerry enjoyed wildlife, animals and nature, and watching and learning about weather. He loved his family very much. Jerry is survived by his brother, Jack L. Hartig; children, Robert Hartig, Ingrid Nunn (Rick), Lisa Hartig and Christopher Hartig (Jeannie) ; grandchildren, Lauren Nunn, Emily Nunn, Jack C. Hartig and Zachary Weingart; nieces, Michele Vanhooser (David) and Jacqueline Hickrod (Todd), and nephew, Gary Hartig (Gina). The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Steed Jackson, Janna Gartner, RN, Dr. Mark Browning and the nursing staff at Oncology Hematology Associates that make fighting cancer their life’s work. A Funeral Service will be 11:00AM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
