Nécrologie de Jerry Wayne Kerchief
Jerry Wayne Kerchief, age 62, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday April 29th, 2021 suddenly and unexpectedly at his home. Jerry was born March 17, 1959 in Evansville, IN., to Willard H. and Joyce M. Kerchief. He graduated from Central High School 1977. He dedicated himself at Custom Insulation Fabricators working for his brother, Tommy, for almost 30 years. And the past 2 years he was working part-time as a grounds keeper at Thunderbolt Pass Golf Course. His managers, Bret Salmon and Austin VanBritson, spoke highly of his job performance. Jerry was a special person who acquired many friends; one of those friends was his best friend, Ken E. Poulson. Born on St Patrick’s Day he shared a green beer and Pizza at Rounder’s with his friends, but of course he never had to buy. On days visiting Highland Inn they would “accidentally” make extra food and ask Jerry if wouldn’t mind eating so they didn’t have to discard it, once again never had to buy. He was loved by many people. Jerry enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, and Nascar. His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. His best times were when he went with friends to Talladega to watch the Nascar races. All of his co-workers at CIF heard about his adventures for many weeks to follow. Jerry had a love for animals. Jerry adopted a puppy who he had no idea would turn out to become a very large fur baby, Jerry named him Duke. Jerry and Duke shared a special bond for many years and Duke was by his side when he passed away. Jerry was preceded in death by both his mother and father. He is survived by his brothers, Tommy Kerchief (Frances) of Evansville, Jimmy Kerchief (Rose) of Evansville and Norman Kerchief of Miami, Florida; sisters: Diane Engler (Dennis) of Evansville, Janet Kerchief of Evansville, Angela Steele of Evansville and Donna Noriega of Evansville; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m, Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Bill Schwartz. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderNorthChapel.com
