Joan M. Ruby Robinson

Joan (Joann Pinkston) Robinson, 83, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 26, 1942, to the late Ervin and Alma (Dimmett) Pinkston.

Joan was raised in Haubstadt, Indiana, and graduated from Haubstadt High School in 1960. She later attended Tri-State Beauty School and worked as a beautician for several years.

She was the beloved wife of Gerry Robinson of Evansville, Indiana. A devoted mother, Joan is survived by her children, Darla (Jerry) Rhoades of Rockport, IN, and Michael (Susan) Smith of Spurgeon, IN. She was also a loving stepmother to Mary (Charlie) Satterfield of Princeton, IN, and Erica (Steven) Evans of Mt. Carmel, IL.

Joan deeply cherished her grandchildren: Kayla Marx-Rhoades, Josh Marx-Rhoades, Elizabeth Rhoades, Andrew Rhoades, Reed Smith, and several great-grandchildren.

She will be lovingly missed by her sister, Joyce (Jerry) Lafenhagen of Ft. Branch, IN, and her sister-in-law, JoAnne Avery Pinkston of Princeton, IN; of along with several nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jim Pinkston.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Nancy Robinson. Joan’s final resting place will be at Saint Stephen’s Cemetery in Warrenton, Indiana.
